I produce my art against the backdrop of the acute threat to our society brought on by climate change and other crises. The facts are everywhere, so why aren’t we taking the necessary steps? Instead, we choose short-term gratification, negating the immediacy of the danger.
Our ecological crisis throws us back to the fundamental questions of human existence. It is high time for an existential self-examination. Why do we act the way we do? What kind of beings should we become?
Let us use art to create scope for the imagination in order to think about changing things, to think about time, which we don’t have anymore but which we need to take, to think about solidarity during this crisis that affects us on a global level, to think about ways for us to meet, understand one another, to think about anger and about fear.
How shall we prepare?
Being will be here
Beauty will be here.
But this beauty that visits us now will be gone
