DEAR COMPANIONS OF THE OPEN STUDIOS,

on Thursday, 29 September, we would like to invite you to out next Open Studio from 6–8 pm at Studio 'Alte Post'!

Sitting and dancing with your hands, crossing the room like a biographical map, tapping on wood with your fingernails, moving to the sound of your own breath: In the rehearsals for our new group piece ENSEMBLE, eight people come together, bringing with them their very own bodily practices, stories and memories.

ENSEMBLE will premiere on 18 January 2023 at Kampnagel and plays with the classical form of the corps de ballet by defying it: instead of following the principle of sameness and simultaneity of the corps de ballet, we focus on the multiplicity of eight people and their physicality. What does it mean to engage with each other without immediately following mechanisms of alignment?

In the coming weeks, the dancers will meet in different constellations to explore what they can give to the group and what they need from each other. Together with Jenny and musician/composer Jetzmann, dancers Joel Small, Chihiro Araki and Salah Zater invite you to become part of their rehearsal week and explore individual movements in the collective.

Note on corona: In order to participate, we kindly ask you to do a self-test in advance on a voluntary basis (not older than 24 hours).
