DEAR COMPANIONS OF THE OPEN STUDIOS,
on the occasion of the upcoming release of our portrait series SHARED DANCES, among others on jennybeyer.de, we would like to invite you to a special OPEN STUDIO on 29 June, from 6–8 pm, at Studio 'Alte Post':
SHARED DANCES – A Portrait Series is a collection of digital dance portraits that grows from our stage projects. The first portraits were created in collaboration with video artist Helena Ratka, composer Jetzmann, dramaturges Anne Kersting and Igor Dobričić, hansen/2 and the eight very different dancers from our group piece ENSEMBLE (premiere: 18 January 2023 | Kampnagel Hamburg).
In eight short videos, we see solos of the dancers, with which they – not only, but also – answer the same questions: 'What brings you here?' 'For whom do you dance your material?' The challenge here is to pass on one's own solo to one of the other dancers afterwards.
Although the dancers never physically come together, their (body) stories, their movements and motives for turning the stage into a space for action are linked in very different ways. SHARED DANCES – A Portrait Series is our tool to explore and communicate dance as a social intervention.
On Thursday, Jenny, the dancer Salah Zater and the musician Jetzmanninvite you to have a look into the videos together and to move, inspired by the portraits.
