For the new group piece ENSEMBLE (premiere: 17 January 2023, Kampnagel Hamburg) Jenny Beyer & team are looking for five professional dancers/performers with various backgrounds and practices that are based in Germany.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR PEOPLE THAT ARE INTERESTED IN:

• detailed physical, choreographic work
• sharing own tools and practices with others
• exploring tools and practices of others
• moving in a group, becoming part of a group, flowing, leading, following
• creating, learning and sharing movements
• contributing to a respectful, inclusive working environment based on solidarity

ENSEMBLE twists the motif of the corps de ballet and celebrates the multi-corporeality of the group. What are many bodies today? Which dynamics are they subject to? What do they depict?

ENSEMBLE will be created with the help of our OPEN STUDIOS. This encounter format of sharing practices and choreographic processes with interested audience members was initiated by Jenny Beyer & team in 2014.

7 weeks of rehearsals will be scheduled in June 2022, September 2022, October 2022, December 2022, final rehearsals will take place between 02–17 January 2023. This is a payed job. Our payments are 15 % above the lower fee limit of the BfdK per week.

From a self-critical perspective, we would like to explore what our approach of dialogical work at eye level can be. We value equity and diversity as integral parts of our working ethics and see ourselves as beginners who are eager to learn from each other and to de- velop strategies together for anti-disciminative, socially sustainable (work) environment. We welcome applications from people of all genders, nationalities, religions/beliefs, with disabilities, of all ages, sexual orientations and identities. Currently our core team consists of white-read and non-disabled people. We reflect that this can be a challenging situation for BIPoC and people with disabilities. Unfortunately, the studio in Altona is located on the first floor and is only accessible via numerous steps. There is no toilet for wheelchair users on site.
