Dear companions of the OPEN STUDIOS,

On Thursday, December 12, from 6–8 PM, we warmly invite you another OPEN STUDIO at Studio Alte Post!

This session will focus on my upcoming piece ZURÜCK ZU ALI, which will premiere on March 25, 2026, at Kampnagel.
ZURÜCK ZU ALI is a solo dance piece about my grandfather Walter “Ali” Beyer, who fought in the resistance against National Socialism. The project combines personal memory with political research and explores how a family history can move through the body of a granddaughter and performer.
My body becomes a surface of remembrance: I connect biographical investigation with the question of what his story means to me – and to our time – today.

The co-host of this Open Studio is dancer and choreographer Mark-Christoph Klee. He shares his experience with biographical, choreographic work relating to memory and National Socialism. The occasion for this is his solo piece “Herbert,” which is about his great-great-uncle, who was imprisoned during the Nazi era because of his homosexuality. I am in dialogue with him during the process of creating “Zurück zu Ali” (Back to Ali).

Musician Jetzmann and dramaturg Igor Dobričić will also accompany the Open Studio.
