TOUCH IS CHANGE - RESIDENCY
Due to our recent research practice “Touch is change” we are interested in the following questions: What moves people? What touches people? Where can points of contact be used, increased, made visible made graspable – or even connected?
We (SLiD) would like to connect to you in the form of a residency program: One residency that invites a dance artist / choreographer / or group based in Hamburg.
WHO WE ARE
SLiD – Shared Leadership in Dance
SLiD is a commitment to collaboration, sharing of knowledge, resources, and work in the field of dance. SLiD is initiated by the three choreographers Jenny Beyer, Antje Pfundtner in Gesellschaft (APiG) and Ursina Tossi and their teams.
WHAT WE OFFER
We offer one paid two-week residency at the Studio Alte Post in Hamburg-Altona:
Dates: 6-17 October 2025
Fee: €2,000 (gross)
The residency includes:
- - 2 weeks of studio time to work on your own choreographic or dance-related project
- - Mentoring and artistic support exchange with by SLiD artists: Jenny Beyer, URSina Tossi, Antje Pfundtner is possible
- - An opportunity to share your process with an audience during an informal sharing/Open Studio at the end of the residency
- - artistic exchange with by SLiD artists: Jenny Beyer, URSina Tossi, Antje Pfundtner
- - exchange and support in integrated audiodescription
WHO CAN APPLY
We are looking for dance professionals, artists, performers, or choreographers who:
- - Live and work in Hamburg
- - Come from various backgrounds and practices with a clear relation to dance
- - who are open and curious towards sharing tools and practices with others
- - Are willing to contribute to a respectful, inclusive and solidarity-based working environment
- - Are interested in shaping and hosting an Open Studio in Studio Alte Post
HOW TO APPLY
If you’re interested, please send your application by 11 July 2025 including:
- - A short artistic bio
- - A motivation (written or video) answering the following questions:
- + Why would you like to do the residency?
- + Is there a theme or topic you would like to work on?
- + How would you use your time during the residency?
- + How would you like to include the audience in your process (Open Studio)?
- + If applicable, what is your approach to accessibility?
- + What is your interest in being in exchange with us and others?
This can be either written (German or English, motivation max. 1 page) or in form of a video / (max. 2 minutes) via mail: slid@posteo.de
SELECTION PROCESS
The jury will consist of SLiD and their teams. We welcome applications from people of all genders, nationalities, religions/beliefs, with disabilities, of all ages, sexual orientations and identities.
NOTES ON ACCESSIBILITY
Unfortunately, we must point out that access to the studio is not barrier-free. It is located on the 1st floor and can only be reached via a staircase.
Nevertheless, we are committed to making the spaces more inclusive. Our artistic and organizational concepts are guided by accessibility and diversity. We have extensive experience in the field of integrated audio description, which we would be happy to share with you.
